In March 2019, Thomas Adès conducted Kirill Gerstein and the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the world premiere of his Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. Commissioned by the BSO, the work was written especially for Gerstein and has already been heard in New York, Leipzig, London, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Cleveland, with more than thirty performances still lined up over the next couple of years.
